My second visit to the Padre Cruz. It's all spotlessly clean. Friendly welcome from the manager. Comfy bed. Plenty of free parking. Good buffet breakfast, excellent coffee. There's a little outdoor sitting area. It looks like the're just starting to construct an outdoor/terraced extension to the breakfast room, which will be lovley. Excellent value for money. Ideal for someone in the area who needs easy car access.
Scenic views over the River Minho and Spain can be admired from this fortified area of Valença. Surrounded by historic village walls, this peaceful hotel has a panoramic restaurant and a bar.
Located in the center of Valença, Hotel Lara is an excellent base for exploring this historic town. It features modern rooms with balconies and a breakfast room overlooking the fortress.

Its such a pretty place and very clean for pilgrim standards. I like that they take precautions when it comes to leaving the backpck outside the bedroom so no bedbugs or anything similar. When I got there the owner was so sweet to take my backpack and pour me a glass of water and do my checkin right away. He forgot to give me the code to enter the building at night but that can happen and another guest was happy to help me out. Overall a great place!! Breakfast was okay and had a little bit of variation.
Offering river views, Residencial Portas do Sol is an accommodation located in Valença, 36 km from Estación Maritima and 44 km from Ria de Vigo Golf.

Easy check in. Location was amazing, right inside the fortress but easy to get to walking and we were lucky, we went on a not so busy day so we could find free parking behind it.
The room was spacious and comfortable, everything was clean and there was air conditioning which we used to warm up the room a little.
The bed was comfortable, as well as the pillows. We had a room with a private bathroom, the shower had good pressure and the water was nice and hot. We were also given plenty of bath towels and there was shower gel.
I would stay again!

Valença is a lovely town half of which is still inside the fortifications. The restaurants and shops are friendly and accommodating the views from the fortress are beautiful. A word of "warning" the food is amazing and the portions HUGE!

Loads of shops selling linen, towels and leather handbags.
Loads of shops selling linen, towels and leather handbags. restaurants a bit pushy but all part of the experience. If staying in the Pousada, hold your breath as you drive through the gateway, very very slowly!
I like the view from my window down on to the plaza and other places close to the hotel. The room was very spacious with lots of closet space for you to store your stuff. The guy at the desk gave a really good tip of walking over tot the castle that night and in the morning you could just walk the road to the bridge. I still walked the castle because I wanted to see it in the morning light without all the people.
The first albergo in my life (started Camino in Valenca) was a great experience! I arrived late, but everything was well explained with a little notes evere where. From first moment - felt like home. It was clean, friendly kitchen, enouth place for myself; good bad with light, and electric outlet. In the morning I was very happy to start my Camino.
We had one of the best rooms, upstairs with a large balcony overlooking the river and Tui. Large room with a wall of windows, excellent views. Very comfortable. Very good breakfast, very attentive staff.
Great to be inside the castle walls at night when everyone else has gone. Driving inside the castle to the hotel was fun, too.
location was great 5 min walk to old town , parking was public underground parking that the hotel gave a discounted rate 10 euros per 24 hours was 50 meters away. Room was spacious for two people bathroom and shower were very good . Staff was excellent and helpful upon arrival . I would recommend this hotel for Braga
Located in the heart of the citadel, the hotel is right on the camino. Reception was very pleasant and the room was excellent with lots of natural light. It was a short walk to the town square where there were several restaurants.
it was a long walk from Camino route along a very busy road. Just a hotel with nothing more to write home about. Skipped breakfast because it was at 8am, we were out the door at 7am. Staff refused to start breakfast earlier
the property is located in the heart of Valença and the Camino path. it was easy to check-in and out, clean, comfortable, and most importantly the staff goes above and beyond to help you. Thank you Claudia!
The room was modern and comfortable, the dinner was very good as well as the breakfast, and the staff was very kind. Another plus is that the hotel is located a few meters from the entrance to the Old City.
A perfect place for a night's stay before Valença. Ana has created a place that is incredibly welcoming. The pilgrim's dinner was very good and everything was just perfect!
The hostel is very unique and beautiful . Herman is very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is good . The cleanliness of the hostel is even better than 5 stars hotel .
Great location. Bedroom is clean and comfortable but small. Nevertheless it does the trick and I recommend for those who want to stay in the old town of Valença
