Stunning island setting with view to Isletas and towards Mount Mombacho on the other side of the island. It felt magical as we were the sole visitors. The room was well appointed and luxurious. A shame our hi-tech shower had no hot water, for this price I expect a high end bathroom experience, the water was cold the mini bar was empty and no tea/coffee making facility. The staff however were friendly.

Isleta El Espino is a private island in Lake Nicaragua, just outside of the colonial city of Granada. It features an outdoor pool and a restaurant on site. Very quiet place in the middle of nature. Staff overwhelmingly friendly and helpful. Excellent food, fresh juices, herbs and salads and of course fish from the lake. Just relax, take a swim in the lake or the pool, enjoy the sun setting behind the slopes of Mombacho volcano, and see it being illuminated by the rising sun next morning. Have a cocktail, and go kayaking around neighboring isletas.

This place is the perfect stay. It’s quiet, clean, the rooms are lovely, comfy bed, clean bathroom etc. the breakfast is fruit and an omelette, and it’s one of the best omelets I’ve had in Central America. I wish more places were like this, it was honestly the perfect stay. The staff were loooovely and super helpful too! Cannot recommend more.
