Situated in the heart of Tongariro National Park, Skotel Alpine Resort offers a restaurant, a hot tub and a terrace bar with a fireplace. Most accommodations boast stunning mountain or region views. The location was incredible! The staff was very friendly. The facilities seemed a bit older, but mostly quite clean.

The rooms are nice and cosy, and everything needed is available. The hosts are really friendly, always reachable and they even treated us with a bottle of wine. Highly recommended!

An exceptional experience in terms of our accommodations in New Zealand. The host truly cares about your stay and it's not just empty words that get copied that you get during check-in. And it shows - the room has everything you need, and the host is ready to listen for any improvements. The restaurant and activities recommendations were great and we had a nice chat with the host. I'd recommend this place to anyone and stay here again.

Set in tranquil surroundings with large landscaped grounds and a picturesque garden terrace with mountain views, Tongariro Crossing Lodge offers uniquely spacious rooms with historic character. The staff provided exceptional guidance so that we could take stunning views of the mountains during sunset. Very high quality breakfast. Overall, exceeded my expectations in this rather remote/resource limited (to a city person at least) location.

Part of a larger house, Frankie & Hugh's is a renovated, self-contained apartment situated in Ohakune, just a 20-minute drive from the Turoa ski field on Mount Ruapehu. Breakfast was in the frig; bacon,eggs, toast and fruit. Lovely, friendly hosts with beautiful gardens. Highly recommended.
