Wonderful and caring staff, my left at reception suicase was taken to my room when room became available, they have lockers in spa I had room with balcony _ walk outside thru to the pool., pool area is lovely, towels are comfy Inside pool is right temperature, just open doors for fresh air

Renovated in 2018, the 4-star Hotel Alto Lido is located in Funchal’s prime area – Lido, 2.5 km from the city centre. One of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. Exceptionally nice and helpful staff. Great location with free shuttles to the center. Spacious and clean room, great swimming pool. Breakfast with many choices. Featuring panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, this luxurious hotel in Funchal offers an indoor and outdoor pool and spa. The rooms include a balcony and cable TV. Room is comfortable. We really liked saunas and indoor pool, saunas are for extra fee. 5 euros. Outdoor pools were heated. Breakfast is regular. But dinners were very good. No regrets we took it. Thank you.

Located in Lido, just a 5-minute walk from the oceanfront promenade in Funchal, the recently refurbished Allegro Madeira offers 2 restaurants, an outdoor pool, 360º rooftop bar, spa and fitness... Nice hotel with exceptional sea view in some of the rooms (and pretty ok seaview in the others). Walking distance to Lido beach, 10 minutes by bus to Funchal center, shops and good restaurants nearby.
